Betting on football is maybe the most fascinating of bets, since a number of elements in a match, come into play; The most difficult thing thus knows everything that might influence the result of a match. For example, some teams cannot lose certain matches, because the rivalry of the two clubs means that the home team either wins or concedes a draw but practically never loses. It's a question of honour. It's the case for most of the derbies among others and so mainly in England where there are several clubs per town. Another important point is to look at the rankings, for example in the champions league, it so happens that a team has already qualified and is first in its group; no matter what the result of its last match is. In this case a B team will play, to let the title holders rest, there will therefore be a good chance that of losing. Also, at the end of the season, places for Europe tend to over-motivate the players. Sometimes it isn't a question of players but a question of supporters, so it is very difficult to win while away in Greece or Turkey for example. Supporters literally transcend their player and intimidate their adversary.

Basketball

In the United States, bets on the NBA are an institution, yet it isn't always obvious; what you need to know beforehand, is that for the NBA, as for all American sports, bets are displayed with the away team first.  For example: Chicago - Lakers signifies that it is the Lakers who are hosting.  You need to note however that unlike most sports, playing at home isn't a big advantage in the NBA, which isn't the case for European basketball.  In the NBA, it can be very challenging to bet depending on injuries For example, if the Lakers  are forced to play without Koby Briant, have a high risk of losing if the team opposite isn't that bad!

Tennis

Tennis is very interesting to wager on, but it is necessary to  get some key information beforehand.
The first is: has the player come back after being injured?  Some players remain at the top of the ranking for a long time, even if they don't play and when they come back they rarely win their first match.
Also, looking at the different encounters between the two players is generally a good indication of the result.  Pay particular attention to the surface!  Some players are only good on certain surfaces; the Spanish for example rarely win outside of a clay court.
Also check to see if the player is expected for the next tournament, because some of them deliberately lose to go to another tournament. For these reasons, pay particular attention to the first round and the draw: a player for example who knows that he's going to meet Federer in the second or third round, can lose during the first round to go and play elsewhere.
Note that there are a lot fewer surprises in women's tennis; it's therefore more interesting..
