Asian Handicap & Handicap

First of all you need to know that this type of bet is one of the most valued because it allows you to rebalance an event and thus obtain interesting odds.  Let's take a sample match:

PSG - Montpellier

The odds for a simple bet are as follows:
1: 1.35, N 3.75, 2 9.00

As the match is unbalanced, so too are the odds. So, to balance out, you add a handicap, in football it's usually one goal.  The handicap to balance out will thus be 0:1, in other words, at the end of the match, the result will be determined by adding 1 goal to Montpellier's total.

If the match ends with a 0-0 result with the handicap, that makes 0-1, therefore you had to bet on Montpellier.

If the match ends with a 1-0 result with the handicap, that makes 1-1, therefore you had to bet on a draw.

If the match ends with a 2-0 result with the handicap, that makes 2-1, therefore you had to bet on PSG.

The Asian handicap is like the bet with a handicap, except that you cannot wager on a draw: if a match ends on a draw, the money for the bet is refunded.
